Almost 4,000 served in Medical Mission in QC

Almost 4,000 individuals benefitted from the medical missions conducted in the 14 barangays of the 5th District of Quezon City from July 24 to August 11, 2018. These were conducted during the peak of the rainy season due to sicknesses rampant during this period.

The 14 barangays served were San Bartolome, Gulod, Nagkaisang Nayon, Bagbag, San Agustin, Santa Lucia, Greater Lagro, Fairview, North Fairview, Capri, Pasong Putik, Sta. Monica, Kaligayahan and Novaliches Proper.

The last two barangays catered during the last day of the activity (August 11) were Novaliches Proper and Capri. Volunteers from the Philippine Red Cross were present and their representative, Ms. Evan Cuesta, gave a short lecture on Leptospirosis. Three private doctors were invited to do the consultation. Despite the strong rains and rising street waters, more than 430 individuals came on that day.

The beneficiaries were very thankful for the provision and so with the project partner. They recognized the efforts of the volunteers and thanked their donors including EMBRACE. ‘‘We are aiming for healthy Filipino families and one of the biggest donor, EMBRACE, provided lots of medicines for all of the citizens here in the district. EMBRACE, thank you very much.’’
