Amidst the revelry of heavy rains and strong winds during the Christmas festivity, celebrations continued as PMFTC Inc. and JVOFI together with Championing Community Children (C3) gave two hundred twenty (220) food packs to less fortunate children from Cavite City who were affected by flooding due to the southwest monsoon. The provision, which also served as gifts for the children, was made possible through the EMBRACE program of PMFTC Inc.
It was the afternoon of the 26th of December 2016 when the activity took place in SM-City Rosario. Sights of giant Christmas trees, toy soldiers and colorful holiday balls in the event place increased the excitement among the kids. Surprise and smiles continued to fill the faces of the young audience when a Christmas musical play was performed by a group of dynamic youth called MAD 2x, which stands for Music, Arts and Drama while Making a Difference. They aimed to make a difference in the lives of street children through encouraging them to engage in music, arts, and drama. The activity included a parade of talents presented by empowered members of C3. The activity was also an avenue to promote PMFTC Inc.’s Youth Smoking Prevention Campaign, which was presented before the MAD performances.
Aside from the food packs given by EMBRACE, each of the children also received bears from SM Cares through their project called “Bears of Joy” that gives a chance for less privileged children to receive a small token of love and to make them feel the warmth of the season. This collaborative undertaking has not only brought joy to the beneficiaries but also hope.
