PMFTC through its Corporate Social Responsibility program, EMBRACE, stepped in to provide early Christmas cheer last November 29, 2018 at Barangay Singcang Airport, Bacolod City, putting smiles on the children’s faces as they were given a hundred (100) new school bags.
Before the school bags were distributed, SPO4 Carlos A. Arrollado gave a short talk to the children, emphasizing the role of policemen in the community and that they are the children’s friends in times of troubles. To prove this, he shook each child’s hand as a symbol of friendship.
While the children were busy holding on to their new bags, they did not forget to shout in unison, “Thank you, EMBRACE!”
The project, which aimed to motivate underprivileged children from the urban slums and area in Bacolod City to attend school and continue learning , was made possible by close partnership with the Local Government Unit. It also contributes to the United Nation’s Sustainable Development Goals 4 (Quality Education) and 17 (Partnership for the Goals).
