Sets of school supplies including slippers and multivitamins were distributed to children of San Isidro Elementary School in San Isidro, Kitcharao, Agusan del Norte on November 16, 2018. The distribution of school supplies was part of the Police Regional Office (PRO) 13’s Community Outreach Program with simultaneous activities like Operation Tuli, Medical and Dental Operations, Barangay Pulong- pulong (E-clip), distribution of leaflets, reading glasses, and food packs, mass feeding, free haircut and Lice Alis, with a serenade from the Regional Mobile Force Battalion (RMFB) 13 and Philippine Army Bands.
PCSupt. Gilberto DC Cruz, PRO-13’s Regional Director, 1st Lt. Jose Roque of the 29th Infantry Battalion of the Philippine Army, and Gov. Ma. Angelica Rosedell assisted in the distribution. During the viewing of the IAMSTRONG video and dance, personnel of the Philippine National Police (PNP) led the children in dancing. Mascots of the PNP and Santa Claus furthermore added fun to the activity due to their cheerful dancing.
Apart from the activities mentioned, the DOH Region 13 also taught proper hygiene to the children through actual brushing of teeth.
PCSupt DC Cruz said, “We would like you to feel the presence of the government, that you will get to experience these free services, on education, medical, among others. These services have been existing and the government is trying to reach out to places in far- flung areas like Barangay San Isidro.” From a beneficiary’s interview, Mrs. Bernales thanked the sponsors for the free services and items. “The medicines are of great help, even the lectures, and we are very happy to receive slippers and school supplies for our children. To EMBRACE who sponsored these, thank you very much for this early Christmas gift. We hope you will come back next year.”
