AN OCCASION TO STAND PROUD

(Top-bottom) Benguet, La Union and Ilocos Sur DENROs together with their respective partners.

Duty. Opportunity. Honor. Three bold things that build up a hero. Three simple words that describe a bigger meaning of sacrifice. Three words of value that project volunteerism.

The newly deputized Deputy Environment and Natural Resources Officers (DENROs) of Benguet and Region 1 were recognized by their respective partners. In Benguet, 27 out of 38 DENROs were reoriented and sworn in by CENRO-Buguias. They were later presented to the Benguet Provincial LGU and Sangguniang Panlalawigan on Janaury 23, 2017. In La Union, 6 out of 9 DENROs were presented to the Provincial Governor before their re-orientation with DENRO-La Union last January 11, 2017. On January 12, 2017, 29 out of 34 DENROs of Ilocos Sur had their re-orientation with the CENRO-Tagudin.  The volunteerism of these DENROs serve as an inspiring act to everyone—showing responsibility and passion in protecting the environment. One of their roles mentioned is not only to apprehend violators but to also record the good activities such as planting in their areas of responsibility. Their recognition has commenced their duties as DENROs and more shall come their way.

Here we see men of courage and men of honor who greatly stand proud and proudly say, “I am a defender of the environment”.
