On December 12th 2016 the Microfinance (MF) unit held their 16th Annual General Assembly at the Easter School Gym, along Guised Road, Baguio City.
The General Assembly is an annual gathering to acknowledge the MF clients and promote a connection between the Foundation and the clients. The Assembly started with a prayer from Marilyn Karitativo, one of the clients, and opening remarks from the MF Program Manager Ms. Lily Ann Maranes.
The games began with a variety show a YES or NO game wherein the Branch officers reiterated the MF loans and microinsurance policies by making the clients choose whether their statement is correct or wrong based on the orientations from their loan officers, to which the clients enthusiastically obliged to join. The clients were further entertained through series of games, raffle draws, and presentations.
Although only one was able to take home the grand prize there were also games and consolation prizes .
Nancy Tumingeb was able to take home the 3rd prize a Camel Twin Tub Washing Machine, while Jean Caluza shouted and jumped for joy as she was called to take home the 32-inch Skyworth LED TV. The excitement hasn’t even died down when the project officers called on the winner, of the Chisense Personal Refrigerator HBC-17, Mrs. Bernaliza Maloban.
There were two categories for presentations, namely modern dance and cultural dance. The Calajo group from Sablan won both the categories and was able to take home P5,000 worth of cash prizes (2,500 per category) while the JVO Blares group from Virac, Itogon took home P3,000 (1,500 per category) worth of cash prizes. They were first runner-up both for modern and cultural dance.
Mrs. Silvida Antiquera, General Manager of (Kasagana-ka Mutual Benefit Association) KMBA was also present during the assembly to give more information and to answer the inquiries from the clients about the micro-insurance. PM Maranes also gave updates on new micro-insurance products in partner with KMBA, RA10693 – Microfinance NGOs Act and R.A. 9510 – Credit Information System Act (CISA).
