Jaime V. Ongpin Foundation Inc. (JVOFI) sealed partnership with various organizations, government offices, provincial and local government units, and academe from La Union. The Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) signing took place Don Mariano Marcos Memorial State University (DMMMSU) International Convention Center Hall A, Sapilang, Bacnotan, La Union held on February 27, 2025.

Representatives present during the MOA Signing were from Don Mariano Marcos Memorial State University (DMMMSU), Office of the Provincial Agriculture(PG – LU-OPAG) , National Commission on Indigenous People (NCIP)-Supiden, Local Government of Bauang, Department of Trade and Industry (DTI), Department of Human Settlements and Urban Development (DHSUD), Department of Environment and Natural Resources- Environmental Management Bureau (DENR-EMB) R1, Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) Region 1, Department of Agriculture- Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources(DA-BFAR) R1 , Provincial Government of La Union, Local Government of San Juan, Local Government San Gabriel, Philippine Coast Guard, North La Union Campus, Dragon Eight, San Juan Resorts and Hotels Association (SJRRHASS), Lorma Community Development Foundation Inc., Lupon ng mga Indibidwal na Nangangalaga sa Kalikasan (LINK), Saint Louis College City of San Fernando La Union, Dalumpinas Oeste Eco Rangers (DOERS), and Local Government of Bacnotan, Bannuar ti La Union Eagles Club.
Mr. Lilito D. Gavina, the DMMMSU Vice President for Administration and Quality Assurance gave his welcome remarks ,“the signing of the Memorandum of Agreement among partners is a testament towards a sustainable future at nadagdagan ng R2R, in some region they call it RRR (Ridge, River, Reef) bago pumunta sa karagatan ay dadaan muna sa river”. The R2R project is a testament to our love to protect and preserve our natural resources from the mountain ridges down to the rivers and to the reefs.
Moving forward activities of JVOFI were also discussed in the MOA signing. This was then followed by commitment sharing. Ms. Annalyn Valdez read the commitment message of Governor Hon. Raphaelle Veronica Ortega- David of the Provincial Government of La Union “The Province of La Union has been consistently building partnerships with various stakeholders in generating innovative solutions in catering to the needs of our kaPROBINSYAnihan while preserving our province’s biodiversity. This time, it is our pleasure to partner with Jaime V. Ongpin Foundation, Inc. for our #KalikasanNaman Campaign especially in the Inclusive Solid Waste Management from Ridge to Reef initiative. I personally commit that the Provincial Government of La Union will ensure that all these will directly benefit our constituents and serve as a steppingstone for progress and continued development.”

The sealing of partnership signifies the essence of commitment, responsibility, and participation in taking environmental initiatives that requires collective effort. This is also in accordance with the implementation of Ridge to Reef Project in strengthening partnerships and SDG 17.
