Achieving SDGs in the Philippines in the Time of COVID 19

first technical Working group was held via videoconference

Last August 2020, the Deutsche Gesellschaft fur International Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) of Germany approved our proposal entitled, “Achieving SDGs in the Philippines in the Time of COVID 19”.  This is a follow-up project of the recently concluded project entitled, “Mobilizing Investments and Community Participation in SDGs through GeoMapping in the Philippines.”

The new project aims to strengthen multi-stakeholder participation in 13 municipalities in Benguet province in ensuring that COVID-19 recovery plans are inclusive and responsive to their SDG priorities. This will be implemented only from August 2020 – January 2021

The project is also in partnership with the different National Government Agencies who were our partners in the previous project: the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA), the National Economic and Development Authority (NEDA), Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG), Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD), Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR), the Benguet State University (BSU) and the University of the Philippines Baguio. Additional partners are the Department of Agriculture (DA), Department of Trade and Industry (DTI), Department of Health (DOH), Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE), National Commission of Indigenous Peoples (NCIP), and the Technical Education Skills and Development Authority (TESDA) which played an important role in assisting the municipalities during the COVID 19 pandemic.
