To continue the social preparation activities for the drafting of the Ancestral Domain and Sustainability Protection Plan of the Ayta Magbukun of Mariveles and Bagac,
A Participatory Situation Analysis (PSA) and development-planning workshop was conducted on March 14-17, 2022. It was participated by 32 members of the Ayta Magbukun and facilitated by the JVOFI Project team with the assistance of Ms. Maria Teresa Padilla and 8 members of the NCIP Regional and Provincial Office.
The 4-day activity involved the participation of the Ayta Magbukun community in the discussion and documentation of their indigenous practices on kinship, marriage, christening, burial, and childrearing, including their cultural dances and songs, as well as indigenous belief systems on leadership and governance.
The community was able to create a seasonal calendar that features the cyclical and annual patterns in their community in relation to weather, crop cycles, workload, social events, and others. To further foster a sense of communal and environmental responsibility, a community map was made, visualizing the community’s resources and opportunities.
