An organizational assessment and diagnosis workshop was conducted by the JVOFI team on February 8-11, 2022 in Brgy. Rang-ayan, Ilagan, Isabela and in Brgy. Naddungan, Gattaran, Cagayan. This was done in behalf of SMCGPPP Foundation for their upland reforestation project. SMCGPPP partnered with people’s organizations in the area and will provide funding and assistance in the conduct of reforestation activities.
The workshop assessed the current status of the people’s organization in terms of weaknesses, capabilities and resources. This will enable SMCGPPP Foundation to identify the proper interventions for the organization depending on their phase of growth. Ultimately, this will help the people’s organization be stronger in project planning and implementation.
This workshop was done as part of SMCGPPP Foundation’s “Ridge to Reef Conservation Program: Project 747”, which aims to plant 7 million trees over approximately 4,000 hectares in at least 7 provinces where they operate. People’s organizations will be tapped to reforest neglected NGP sites with indigenous and fruit-bearing trees which will also be a sustainable source of livelihood. As a short-term engagement, JVOFI was tapped to conduct an organizational assessment and diagnosis workshop for Holy Trinity Agro Forestry Multi-Purpose Cooperative (HTAFMPC) in Brgy. Rang-ayan, Ilagan, Isabela and Danlig Kapaya Cacao Growers Association (DKCGA) in Bgy. Naddungan, Gattaran, Cagayan.
