A community planning and validation workshop was held in Barangay Ilijan, Bataan on February 8, 2022, for the preparation of a Social Development Plan. It was facilitated by JVOFI’s research team and participated by sectoral representatives of Barangay Ilijan and stakeholders from the Batangas City LGU.
This is the second step after the initial data gathering using surveys, focused group discussions, and secondary data. The workshop provided an opportunity for residents of the barangay to appreciate the purpose of the social development program and validate the gathered data. Projects proposed by the sectoral representatives were discussed and the LGU and national government agency representatives shared their recommendations to the community and responded to their concerns.
JVOFI’s preparation of a 3 to 5-year social development program for Brgy. Ilijan, Batangas city was commissioned by Linseed Field Power Corporation as one of their requirements for the issuance of an Environmental Clearance Certificate (ECC). Linseed Field Power Corporation will operate the country's first liquefied natural gas (LNG) terminal and will supply Excellent Energy Resources Inc., a unit of SMC Global Power Holdings Inc. and Kepco Ilijan Corporation, a 1,200 megawatt combined cycle power plant.
