The Jaime V. Ongpin Foundation, Inc. received its accreditation by the Department of Interior and Local Government as a partner CSO in implementing its programs such as Lupong Tagapamayapa, Seal of Good Governance and Local Government Support Fund-Monitoring and Evaluation of Assistance to LGUs. Under the Local Government Support Fund-Monitoring and Evaluation of Assistance to LGUs JVOFI is partner in implementing Support to Barangay Development Program (SBDP), Financial Assistance to Local Government Units (FALGU), Disaster Rehabilitation and Reconstruction Assistance Program (DRRAP), Conditional Matching Grant to Provinces for Road Repair, Rehabilitation and Improvement (CMGP).
This is in pursuant to the DILG Memorandum Circular 2018-89, Guidelines on Engagements with Civil Society Organizations.
“If we talk of DILG it covers everything that the government does, probably that also describes JVOFI, we try to engage in everything. We would also like to support local government to function effectively and efficiently with transparency and accountability. That is where JVOFI can support and contribute. There are several programs we can partner with DILG”
JVOFI base this application for accreditation on its commitment to upholding its mission to mobilize strategic partnership to respond to communities in need. This is also stated in the DILG Memorandum Circular, in building long-term foundation of good governance, it is important to develop and strengthen collaborative relationships between the government and civil society.
Recognizing the importance of having an active, informed, and capacitated civil society in upholding a culture of good governance, The Department of the Interior and Local Government, has opened spaces for the CSOs to participate in the planning, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of its initiated programs.
DILG - CAR Regional Director Araceli San Jose said, “definitely, this is not the only partnership that we have. JVOFI and DILG have a lot of collaborations to help our LGUs in attaining their goals.”
